what is L♥VE?
It’s been a long while since I updated something from my personal journal that’s read-worthy. I made this one months ago and I haven’t been motivated to share it since now and thought this would help someone in some way. I remember I made it when overwhelmed with this emotion and just had to get it out through writing.
Is it something to gain from someone? Is it something you get back from getting or giving something for someone? Maybe clean clothes, warm food, apartment, beautiful words, sex, money and so on? And when you don’t give or receive them anymore, it will stop? You will stop loving? Or is it something totally different which man cannot measure? Can love exist when there is center which is measuring and comparing or does love exist only when all measuring and comparing totally gone? Is it some silly, childish romantic idea, without any touch of reality?
The word love is one of the most known word in the world, but what is the deepest meaning of that. What is love.
In my opinion the Bible has the best definition of it. It was thoroughly described by apostle Paul in the whole chapter 13 of the book of 1 Corinthians. It was best conceived in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 which goes as
“4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”
Now that I think of it our society now has the opposite concept of love - the one driven by selfish and self centered desires. We are demanding our own way and thinking only of what benefits us and what makes us happy. That is why Satan always wins out causing relationships to fail, tear apart families and causing countless of broken hearts. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to live in a world where we practice the instructions written in the Book of Life?
I know the verse goes against everything that we think would make us happy in loving someone but that’s the fact that we often miss because of our humanity. If you can’t have faith in yourself that it would work then have faith on the perfect God who wrote it.
‘It is love that keeps the world turning and the stars in their spheres.’-Paulo Coelho
